Ojala pleased with second half

HJK opened the Uusi Lahti Cup with a second half scoring binge beating City Stars 3-0. Juhani Ojala, who opened scoring, was disappointed with the slow start.
City Stars caught HJK off guard by matching them in the opening half. City Stars, playing in the second division, was in striking distance.
- We were searching for ourselves in the opening half. It was difficult to adjust to the playing surface at Suurhalli. I wouldn't say we came in cocky, though, Ojala emphasizes.
- Credit to City Stars as well, they were very active in the first half.
The half time team talk was very tense resulting in vast improvement for the boys in blue and white. HJK took control and City Stars started fading.
Ojala lashed home the first one on 55 minutes. Medo clipped on a set piece with his head to Ojala, who volleyed into the top right corner.
Five minuted later it was time for another one of HJK:s youngsters to strike. Striker Zakaria Kibona was in the right place at the right time to poke the ball into the net following a corner.
- It was a pretty weird situation. Well finished though.
A few minutes from time winger Dawda Bah chested the ball down and beat the City Stars keeper with an accurate shot.
HJK will continue the tournament on Saturday vs. Tampere United. Ojala knows the team must improve.
- We have to be able to play more consistently. We need to score early.
